What’s In The Name:
Supportive Engagement healing through therapy, was developed through a vision to provide preventative care to children and families in order to reduce and/or eliminate maladaptive behaviors within the family system. Supportive Engagement believes in a bottom-up approach by supporting and teaching individuals about the importance of working through the brain stem also known as the “primitive brain” first and then moving up the chain targeting the frontal cortex, “the thinking part of the brain.”
By supporting caregivers in engaging in alternative patterns of behaviors through the use of Child Center Play Therapy concepts during weekly sessions. Families learn more adaptive ways of interacting with each other as well as create a sense of cohesiveness. We strive to support each individual and family member through their journey of connecting and exploring alternative ways of coping. As well as, by supporting our clients no matter how big or small, to feel empowered to regulate their nervous system.
